Revolade 25 mg is a prescription medication that contains Eltrombopag, a thrombopoietin receptor agonist used to treat certain blood disorders. It is primarily indicated for patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have not responded adequately to other treatments, such as corticosteroids or immunoglobulins. Revolade helps increase platelet production in the bone marrow, reducing the risk of bleeding in individuals with low platelet counts.

In addition to ITP, Revolade 25 mg is also used in patients with chronic hepatitis C-associated thrombocytopenia, allowing them to initiate and maintain interferon-based therapy. It is also prescribed for severe aplastic anemia (SAA) in patients who are refractory to standard immunosuppressive therapy.

Revolade is taken orally, once daily, either with or without food, but should not be taken with dairy products or calcium-rich foods, as these can interfere with absorption. Regular blood tests are necessary to monitor platelet levels and liver function during treatment.

Common side effects include headache, nausea, fatigue, and liver enzyme elevation. Rare but serious side effects may include liver problems and blood clots. Revolade 25 mg has significantly improved the quality of life for patients with chronic platelet disorders by offering an effective oral treatment option.
