HepCfix (Sofosbuvir 400 mg & Velpatasvir 100 mg Tablets)

HepCfix is a combination antiviral medication containing Sofosbuvir (400 mg) and Velpatasvir (100 mg), used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections in adults. This fixed-dose combination is effective against all six major genotypes of HCV, making it a pan-genotypic treatment option.

HepCfix works by inhibiting viral replication. Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide polymerase inhibitor, while Velpatasvir is an NS5A inhibitor. Together, they prevent the virus from multiplying and spreading in the body, leading to viral clearance in most patients. The standard dosage is one tablet per day for 12 weeks, but treatment duration may vary depending on liver damage and prior treatment history.

This medication is well-tolerated, but some patients may experience headache, fatigue, nausea, or insomnia. In rare cases, serious side effects like bradycardia (slow heart rate) when taken with amiodarone or reactivation of hepatitis B may occur, requiring medical monitoring.

HepCfix offers a high cure rate of over 95%, making it a preferred choice for HCV patients. However, it should only be used under medical supervision, with necessary liver function tests and viral load monitoring throughout the treatment period.
